TAHIMA Monthly Meeting: Get Connected for Renown Career Opportunities - 5/20/2021

The May TAHIMA meeting of 2021 features Bertram Lansiquot who will talk about career opportunities with Renown Talent. There are x2-CEUs total.

TAHIMA Monthly Meeting: 21st Century Cures Act and Information Blocking - 1/28/2021

The January TAHIMA meeting of 2021 features Debi Primeau, MA, RHIA, FAHIMA who will review the new 21st Century Cures Act and Information Blocking requirements that were recently passed. There are x2-CEUs total in the Informatics, Analytics and Data Use domain.

Debi Primeau is Primeau Consulting Group’s Founder and President and leads the consulting practice in providing regulatory compliance, information governance, HIM staffing and auditing services. Debi has held positions in ambulatory care, acute care, and has worked with large consulting companies overseeing clients in Health Information, CDI, Audit and Education, and Privacy and Security.

Debi has a degree in business management, in addition to a graduate degree in organizational management. She is an AHIMA Fellow, Past-President of the California Health Information Association, received the CHIA Distinguished Member award in June 2013 and the Industry Champion Award in June 2018. She currently is the Chair-elect for the AHIMA Commission on Certification of Health Informatics and Information Management (CCHIIM)

TCC HIT 5k Scholarship Run/Walk - 03/05/2016

The TCC HIT faculty are proud to announce our first annual HIT 5K Scholarship Run/Walk event, H.I.T. the Trail on March 5th, 2016. This event is organized by the winter graduating HIT class of 2016 . The event is both a student-led project in which students are putting to use their project management skills to plan, develop and hold a public event and a fundraising opportunity to benefit future TCC HIT students through a scholarship fund.

All proceeds will go directly to the TCC HIT scholarship fund which will provide financial assistance to students for college tuition, books, and national exam fees.

18th Annual HIM Student Leadership Conference 2013: June 8 2013

The HIM faculty at Tacoma Community College are pleased to announce the 18th Annual HIM Student Leadership Conference presented by the graduating TCC HIM class of 2013. The conference will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 8-4 on the main TCC campus.

Daren Schillinger is currently District Manager for IOD Incorporated, a national HIM vendor specializing in Release of Information, Coding, Imaging, and Audit Support. He currently supervises the Release of Information (ROI) for over 20 hospitals and 300 clinics in South Puget Sound, Eastern WA, and Oregon. He has more than 19 years of experience in the ROI field with extensive knowledge of HIPAA, as well as the state and federal laws that govern the release of PHI.
